December 01, 2019 - ACCREDITATION ASSESSMENT TEAM INVITES PUBLIC COMMENT

  

A team of assessors for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), will arrive December 9, 2019 to examine all aspects of the Nashua Police Department’s ability to meet the CALEA standards which encompasses policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services.

   Verification by a team of two assessors that Nashua Police Department meets the Commission’s state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation – a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence.

   As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session Wednesday December 11, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. The session will be conducted in the classroom at the Nashua Police Department located at 28 Officer James Roche Drive. A separate entrance is available for the classroom.

   If for some reason an individual cannot speak at the public information session but would still like to provide comments to the assessment team, he/she may do so by telephone. The public may call 589-1652 on Wednesday, December 11 , 2019 between the hours of 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

   Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes. Information regarding the CALEA standards may be obtained by contacting the Nashua Police Department's Accreditation Manager at 594-3605.
