Can individuals with other communications disorders participate with this registry program?
At this time registrations will be limited to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As this program develops, expansion to other communications disorders will be considered.

If I don’t live in Nashua, can I still register my child/dependent adult on the registry?
Generally, this registration is designed for individuals who live or work in the City of Nashua. However, we understand that there are circumstances where the individual may spend significant time in Nashua but not live or work here. These cases will be looked at on a “case by case” basis.

How soon after registration is the information available to the Police Department?
Once the registration is completed and submitted, there are several steps that need to be completed by the department before the information is accessible by dispatchers/officers. This could take up to three business days.

Who has access to my child’s/dependent’s profile?
Nashua Police personnel who require this information in the performance of their duties will have access to this information. This includes but is not limited to broadcasting this information over police radios to officers who are in contact with or looking for a registered individual. There are strict regulations in place with respect to accessing and disseminating this information which will be adhered to.

How do I update information?
If there is a significant change such as address change or an updated photo, this can be done on the registration page. Just click the box indicating “Updated Information”. There will be a minimum amount of mandatory information, such as registrant’s name. From there only the updated fields need to be filled out and submitted.

Once my child/ adult dependent is registered and there is an incident, do I need to do anything different when reporting the incident?
If you need to call the police for any incident involving a registered individual, you should let the call taker know that the subject of the call is registered in our program. This will alert them to important information quicker.

How will this registry help if my child/dependent goes missing?
If the individual is reported missing, information about his/her physical appearance, the most likely places he/she would go, as well as triggers, stimulants and de-escalation techniques will be sent to every police officer in the area who is looking for the missing individual.
