The Nashua Police Department does not require applicants, nor do we require our officers, to live in Nashua or even the State of New Hampshire.

What happens when I send in the application?
You will receive a letter of confirmation that will explain where the test is and what time you need to be there.

Who do I make the check out to for the written exam?
The $15.00 check needs to be made out to the Nashua Police Department

Is there a study guide for the written exam?
No, there is not a study guide for the written exam, nor do we endorse any study guides that you may find. The written exam is a 100 question, general knowledge exam. You do not have to have police experience or knowledge to take the exam.

What should I wear to the written exam?
Because the exam will be followed immediately by the physical fitness exam, you may wear gym clothing to the written exam.

What happens if I pass the written exam?
All candidates that pass the written exam with a 70% or higher will proceed immediately to the physical fitness exam. The tests and minimal passing are listed in the “forms” section of this web site. If you pass the physical fitness exam, you will be scheduled an interview date before you leave.

What is the Nashua Police Department policy on tattoos?
