What is the residency requirement?
The Nashua Police Department does not require officers or applicants to live in the city of Nashua or even the State of New Hampshire. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and hold a valid driver’s license.
Is there a fee to take the exam?
No. There is no longer a fee to participate in the Nashua Police Department’s recruit test.
What happens when I submit an application?
Once you have submitted an application, you will receive a Notice of Receipt of Application via e-mail. It may take a few days for you to receive this e-mail, and there is a chance it will be sent to your junk mail.
Is there a study guide for the written exam?

What should I wear to the written exam?
Candidates who pass the written exam will immediately take the physical fitness exam. For this reason, it is recommended that you wear gym attire to the written exam.
What happens if I pass the written exam?
All candidates who pass the written exam with a score of 70% or higher will immediately proceed to the physical fitness exam. The physical fitness exam is comprised of sit-ups, push-ups, and a 1.5 mile run. You can find the minimum passing standards by selecting “Careers” and then selecting “Physical Fitness Requirements.”
