NPD RELIEF ASSOCIATION |
The Nashua Police Relief Association (NPRA) was founded on September 12, 1941. The purpose of the Relief Association is to support those members in need, provide for the general welfare of its members and promote wellness. The membership of the association consists of active and retired sworn Nashua Police Officers, and active and retired associate members, consisting of non-sworn employees of the Nashua Police Department.
Since its inception, the Relief Association has provided much needed financial relief for members and their families in need following injury or illness; all support is confidential between members and the Executive Board. To promote general welfare the Relief Association sponsors an annual Retirees banquet, a children’s Christmas party, meals for members during holidays. The Relief Association has purchased physical fitness equipment for the Department’s gym and provides other small amenities for members use. The Relief Association also pays annual dues for all members to the NH Police Association (www.nhpolice.net).
The Relief Association also provides funds for the Department’s Critical Incident Management Team (CIMT), which supports all Department sworn and non-sworn personnel following traumatic incidents or during times of emotional need.
The Relief Association conducts an annual fundraiser each year to support its goals. The generous support of area businesses and individuals during the fundraiser has assisted the Relief Association in continuing to provide support to members and their families.
Thank you to all our community members for their continued support!
